What is HumanMind Health?

HumanMind Health is a private, psychiatrist-led mental health clinic providing assessment, treatment and follow-up care in person and via secure video consultation.

Our approach is comprehensive and evidence-based. Assessments are medically led and incorporate a BioPsychoSocial formulation to understand biological, psychological and social contributors to a patient’s difficulties. Treatment may include medication, psychological therapies, lifestyle interventions or onward referral where appropriate.

Appointments & Booking

No. You may self-refer via our Registration Form. We also accept referrals from GPs and other clinicians.

All referrals are reviewed during clinical triage to identify the skills, expertise and capacity required to meet the needs of the patient. Where we feel the patient’s needs may be better served by another clinician, we will, where possible, recommend an alternative provider.

New patient assessments are typically around two hours, unless otherwise agreed.

Follow-ups are usually 60 minutes. In some cases, 30-minute appointments may be offered.

Not always. Some cases require further assessment or differential diagnosis. Prescribing decisions are based on clinical judgement and regulatory standards.

Possibly. Previous records will be reviewed and responsibility for care clarified to ensure safe prescribing and appropriate risk management.

Photo ID is required for your first appointment. Relevant medical records or medication lists may be helpful.

Insurance

Yes. For all private medical insurance policies except Bupa UK and AXA, payment is required in advance and you reclaim the fee directly from your insurer after your appointment using the invoice receipt provided. We aim to be clear about the applicable insurance protocol before proceeding further.

For Bupa UK and AXA policies, upfront payment is not required where direct billing arrangements are in place and pre-authorisation has been confirmed. No additional fees are charged. You remain responsible for any policy excess or exclusions under your policy. With your consent, we may securely take and store your payment details to settle any outstanding balance, including excesses or non-covered amounts.

We strongly recommend confirming:
• That the named clinician is recognised under your policy
• Whether pre-authorisation is required in advance of an appointment
• The amount they will reimburse per hour and/or the annual mental health spend limit
• Whether there is an annual excess to be paid for the first appointment at the point of each annual
policy renewal
• Whether your policy includes cover for neurodiversity (ADHD / ASD) if you suspect this may be relevant

Some policies set a maximum reimbursable rate per session or an annual total spend cap for mental health consultations and treatment. If your policy includes a capped total per appointment or per year, you would be responsible for covering the shortfall.
